I work at SPAN Parent Advocacy Network as the Project Coordinator for the START-Engaging Parents of Students with Disabilities Project and the Project Director for the New Jersey Tiered System of Supports for Early Reading Project. My areas of focus are:
- Special Education Parent Advisory Groups (SEPAGs)
- Early Literacy, especially as it relates to
- providing accessible information for families related to science-based reading instruction and intervention
- NJTSS-ER framework and family engagement
- New Jersey Tiered System of Supports, especially as it relates to Family and Community Engagement
- Inclusive Education
I serve as the (out-going) President of SEPAC SOMA - the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee in the South Orange and Maplewood School District. I've been on the executive board for five years, the last three as president. SEPAC SOMA is an exemplary group in the state that has been parent-led since 2011.
